Welcome! I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. My research focuses on political behavior and political economy in advanced democracies. I’m particularly interested in topics related to distributive politics and political representation in urban settings. My book project explores the substantive implications of descriptive representation, with an emphasis on how minority representation impacts public spending and co-ethnic redistribution. I’m also interested in non-programmatic politics in advanced democracies, including clientelism and patronage. My research has been published in the British Journal of Political Science and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
