I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. During the summer of 2025 I’m based at Sciences Po Paris in the Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics. My research focuses on political behavior and political economy in advanced democracies. I’m particularly interested in topics related to distributive politics, inequality, and political representation in urban settings. My book project explores the substantive implications of descriptive representation across European cities, with an emphasis on how representation impacts public spending and redistribution. I’m also interested in non-programmatic politics in advanced democracies, including clientelism and patronage.
